Internship Program
The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a leading center of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), offers exciting opportunities for students through its internship and project trainee schemes. Here’s a breakdown of what URSC offers:
URSC provides internships to students pursuing UG, PG, and PhD degrees. These internships are designed to give students exposure to the practical side of learning, aligning with the holistic education concept of NEP-2020.
Key details about the Internship Program:
- Eligibility:
- Indian citizens currently pursuing a UG, PG, or PhD from a recognized Indian or international university/institution are eligible.
- Those who have completed a UG or PG degree within the last 6 months and are seeking an internship are also eligible.
- Candidates must be enrolled in a regular on-campus program or have completed a degree as a regular on campus student.
- Students in their 5th semester or 3rd year onwards are eligible to apply.
- Duration: Internships range from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 45 days.
- Important Note: Internships are allotted based on the availability of projects, facilities, and the suitability of a student’s course to the work being carried out at URSC. Allotment is on a first-come, first-served basis with a limited number of slots.
- Financial Assistance: No stipend, transport, or canteen facilities are provided during the internship.
- Application: Candidates need to upload marks sheets of all previous semesters, their resume, and a request/permission letter from the Principal/HOD. The letter should be signed and sealed by the college authority and must mention the duration of the internship.
URSC is currently accepting internship applications for the period between April and June 2025.

Student Project Trainee Scheme
In addition to internships, URSC also offers a project trainee scheme where students can undertake their final year or semester projects.
Key details about the Student Project Trainee Scheme:
- Eligibility and Duration:
- BE/BTech students should have completed their 6th semester, with a minimum project duration of 45 days.
- ME/MTech students should have completed their 1st semester, with a minimum project duration of 120 days.
- BSc/Diploma final year students are eligible for a minimum of 45 days.
- MSc students should have completed their 1st semester, with a minimum project duration of 120 days.
- PhD scholars should have completed course work, with a minimum project duration of 30 days.
- Students should have an aggregate of minimum 60% or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10.
- Project Allotment: Projects are allotted based on the availability of projects, facilities and suitability of the student’s course. Allotment is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited number of slots.
- Financial Assistance: Similar to the internship program, no stipends or accommodation facilities are provided.
- Application Process:
- Interested students should send their resume, a request letter from their college, and all semester mark sheets either by post or email.
