Mr. Sachin Patidar is an automotive technology and business expert with over 20 years of experience in product development and management. He is currently a Deputy General Manager at Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI), leading teams in product validation, engineering data analysis, and innovation management. Sachin’s expertise extends to data-driven analysis, testing, and product development, with a deep understanding of digital methods. Sachin holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Mumbai, a master’s degree in psychology from IGNOU, and is a certified innovation coach. He is also the author of “Captive Catch,” a book about the challenges of driving innovation within organizations.
Sachin shares his journey from a small town in Madhya Pradesh to becoming an expert in automotive engineering. He reflects on the challenges he faced, including language barriers and communication skills, and how he overcame them by building a diverse network and focusing on continuous learning. He highlights the importance of mindset, attitude, and effort in overcoming obstacles.
For students from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Sachin advises focusing on deep technical knowledge and developing “technical assets” like patents and research papers to stand out. He also stresses the significance of soft skills, communication, and networking for career success.
